Sherri Kuhn is a freelance writer who knows her stuff. A mom with teenage children, she has learned that one key to motherhood is not taking it all so seriously. Her blog, “Old Tweener…between changing diapers and wearing them” is chock full of humble lessons on the roller coaster ride of motherhood. In a recent freelance piece for SheKnows.com, Sherri took a look at the DIY design world and in doing so, kept it real for the people who might feel a little intimidated about giving it a go.
I am very proud to be one of the subjects of her article along with Jessica Flannigan of Live the Fancy Life and Amber Wills of Wills Casa. It’s very easy to scroll through Pinterest or the hundreds of home décor galleries on line and believe that the gorgeousness just oozes out of the “makers” of the world. But much of it is trial and error. Very much like we try to teach our kids to approach failure by dusting themselves off and trying again, the pros are no different. As Sherri quoted in her article, “Bloggers Share Their Fail Projects,” I believe it's worth the risk of looking foolish to come up with the new ideas.
Thank you, Sherri
