If you have been wondering what Juvenile Hall Design has been up to for the past two weeks, here is your answer. This weekend we proudly launched a collection of Hand-made "Vintage Industrial" Holiday Ornaments. All are made from an unusual collection of materials: linen, paint, fur, buttons, ribbons, hardware, jewels, wire, ropes, feathers, canvas, glitter, paper, zippers, metal…you name it, it's probably in there.
For this collection, we ventured a bit from our typical bold kids’ color palettes, and kept everything in muted tones and rich textures with a bit of bling. But of course, we had to retain our usual touch of whimsy.
“The Goods,” a beautiful "Vintage Industrial" home decor boutique hosted our retail launch during their first holiday party.
Old driftwood, with a little melted snow and some salvaged crystals from a vintage chandelier.
Here is one sample of our gift set, nestled in some chocolate paper grass. I know where my teacher gifts are coming from this year. One of the simplest but most elegant samples is “the truffle” ball in the center. Not edible ; )
With some upholstery tacks and nails, these really showcase an industrial edge mixed with a bit of glamour.
Natural linen strips with jute and hand-punched paper snowflakes, topped with a little glitter shimmer.
Two tone natural linens with cream pearls, tied on top like their own little package.
These icicles are hardly icy made from thick hand spun felt and wrapped in natural yarn, and the inner copper core of electrical wires.
Some of my favorites…vintage wooden spools wrapped in custom hand-painted mini canvases, showcasing classic winter scenes.
Removable satin ribbons hand through the center, suspending the spool on a clear teardrop vintage bead at the bottom. Pull the ribbon through and hang it alone, and you can use the spool as a classic holder for a delicate taper candle.
We can’t forget the boys. This is "The Bomber." With a strip of natural oiled leather and a riveted metal sheen, this one has a post war industrial edge.
The "Golden Apple." Simple and sweet.
